Talabani discusses post-vote developments with Samarraie, Aani

BAGHDAD /Iraqi News Iraqi President Jalal Talabani discussed with leading members of the Iraqi Islamic Party (IIP) Iyad al-Samarraie and Nusseir al-Aani the post-election developments, according to a presidential press release on Thursday. “Talabani received Samarraie and Aani at his Docan resort residence, (50 km) northwest of the Kurdish city of al-Sulaimaniya, and took up developments to be witnessed in the Iraqi arena after the legislative elections, held on March 7,” read the release as received by Iraqi News. Talabani asserted that the IIP is a key component of the forthcoming government, adding the next cabinet lineup has to be based on genuine partnership. AmR (P) 1
