Allawi’s bloc leads in Ninewa

BAGHDAD /Iraqi News Former Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi’s al-Iraqiya bloc came on top in the 31-seat province of Ninewa after 89.25% of the votes there were counted, followed by the Kurdistan Alliance, according to the electoral commission. “Some 89.25% of the votes in the country’s legislative election counted so far showed that al-Iraqiya was leading with 514,470 votes, followed by the KA with 197,785 votes,” according to the Independent High Electoral Commission.
