U.N. envoy calls for favoring dialogue among political blocs

BAGHDAD / Iraqi News The special representative of the United Nations Secretary General for Iraq (SRSG), Ad Melkert, called for favoring dialogue among political blocs, according to a presidential statement on Tuesday. “Vice President Adel Abdulmahdi held a meeting today with Melkert, with whom he discussed the latest political developments in Iraq after elections,” said the statement received by Iraqi News. “The Iraqi official hailed the U.N. role and its efforts to achieve the Iraqi people’s ambitions,” it added.
