Kurds gets 43 seats in Parliament – UN

BAGHDAD /Iraqi News The United Nations (U.N.) Special Representative for Iraq Ad Melkert said on Monday that Kurds will occupy 43 seats in Iraq’s new Parliament. “Forty-one seats came from voting, two seats for minorities, and one seat for compensations,” Melkert said in a release received by Iraqi News. He said that the minorities’ two seats are related to Christians in Arbil and Duhuk provinces. MH (P)/SR 1
