Ninewa governor demands to release detainees

NINEWA /Iraqi News Ninewa‘s Governor Atheel al-Nejeifi on Wednesday demanded the release of detainees who have not been convicted. This came in a meeting between al-Nejeifi and the head of Supreme Judicial Council, Chief Judge Medehat al-Mahmoud, according to a source from al-Nejeifi’s media office. “During the meeting, al-Nejeifi demonstrated how the detainees’ families are suffering,” the source told Iraqi News. He said that Justice al-Mahmoud promised Gov. al-Nejeifi to do his best with respect to this issue, but within the limits of law.
