Talabani, Maliki discuss forming partnership government

BAGHDAD /Iraqi News Iraqi President Jalal al-Talabani discussed with Prime Minster Nouri al-Maliki forming a national partnership government, according to a presidential statement on Friday. “The officials discussed the ongoing talks and deliberations between the winning blocs in preparation for the building of coalitions, which are necessary for the forming of the upcoming government,” according to the statement that was received by Iraqi News. “The president and al-Maliki during the meeting, held at Talabani’s residence in Baghdad late Thursday (April 1), stressed the importance of unifying stances to form the coming government,” it said.
