Two captured with arms on Iraqi-Syrian borders

NINEWA /Iraqi News Security forces on Saturday captured two persons with weapons in their possession in the western Ninewa area of al-Sahel on the Iraqi-Syrian borders, a U.S. army source said. “A joint Iraqi-U.S. force today (April 10) arrested two men on the Iraqi-Syrian border area of al-Sahel, western Ninewa province, with Kalashnikov machine-guns in their possession,” the source told Iraqi News. “The two men, both are Iraqis, were handed over to the authorities concerned and they are now remanded under investigative custody,” the source added. He did not give further details on the operation. Mosul, the capital city of the violence-ridden province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P) 3
