2 arrested on charges of killing Mosul preacher

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi army force on Saturday arrested two on charges of “involvement” in the murder of imam and preacher of al-Khashab mosque in Mosul city, a source from the Ninewa Operations Command (NOC) said. “A force from the 2nd Division’s 3rd Brigade stationed in Mosul arrested in al-Arabi neighborhood, northern Mosul, two persons on charges of involvement in the murder of Sheikh Abdulmajeed al-Juburi, the imam and preacher of al-Khashab mosque,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The two persons are remanded under investigative custody,” the source added. Earlier, a source from Ninewa police said that unidentified gunmen shot dead Sheikh Juburi inside the mosque right after the evening prayers.
