State of Law’s proposals falling on deaf ears for Iraqiya – spokesman

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Proposals tabled by the Dawlat al-Qanoon (State of Law) of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki would be falling on deaf ears for al-Iraqiya bloc, which clings to its constitutional rights to form a government, according to a spokesman on Saturday. “State of Law’s attempts to manipulate election and constitutional rights by offering posts to al-Iraqiya would not be doing because al-Iraqiya is sticking to its rights to form a government,” Hayder al-Mulla, the official spokesman for al-Iraqiya, told IraqiNews.com news agency on Saturday. Maliki had recently discussed with Hassan al-Alawi, a leading member in al-Iraqiya, means to obtain a “genuine and active participation” by all political blocs. “The State of Law until this moment can’t deal with the concept of peaceful rotation of power in the coming stage. This participation should rest on election and constitutional rights,” stressed Mulla. AmR (P) 2
