Wanted person detained in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: A joint force arrested on Tuesday a wanted person in southwestern Kirkuk, a local police officer said. “A force from the Kirkuk Districts’ Police Department arrested on Tuesday morning (June 8) a wanted person at a checkpoint on the main road between Kirkuk and al-Huweija district,” Brig. Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The detainee was involved in several terrorist attacks in southwest of Kirkuk,” he added. “He was referred to the Criminal Investigations Department for questioning,” Qader said. The oil-rich Kirkuk, a city of mixed Arab, Kurdish and Turkmen population, lies 250 km northeast of Baghdad. SH (P) 2
