Justice ministry releases 111 from Baghdad, Thi-Qar, Basra jails

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi justice ministry’s reformatory department on Thursday released 111 prisoners from three jails in the provinces of Baghdad, Thi-Qar and Basra after they were acquitted by Iraqi courts, a ministry official said. “Ninety were released from the Baghdad prison complex in al-Rasafa, 10 from Thi-Qar and 11 from Basra’s al-Mina’ jail for insufficient evidence,” the official told IraqiNews.com news agency. The reformatory department has 30 prisons in Baghdad, other provinces as well as the Iraqi Kurdistan region, including three for women in Baghdad, Thi-Qar and al-Muthanna. AmR (P) 2
