Policemen free hostage in Falluja

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Policemen liberated a man taken hostage in the district of al-Karma, eastern al-Falluja, on Thursday but failed to arrest his kidnappers, according to a security source in al-Anbar. “The police, acting upon intelligence tip-offs about suspicious activities in an abandoned factory in the area, freed a kidnapped man in the area of Dhira’a Dijla, (22 km) eastern Falluja, but did not manage to arrest his kidnappers,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Search is going on for the persons involved in the kidnapping based on the freed hostage’s descriptions of his kidnappers,” the source added, noting the man was taken hostage for ransom request purposes. Falluja, the largest city in the predominantly Sunni province of al-Anbar, lies 45 km west of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 2
