2 U.S. soldiers wounded in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Two U.S. soldiers were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off near a U.S. convoy in the western Basra area of Safwan on Sunday, according to a local security source. “A U.S. convoy came under an IED attack on the main road in Safwan, (60 km) western Basra, leaving two U.S. servicemen injured,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. IraqiNews.com failed to reach the U.S. forces’ information office for further details. The oil-rich port city of Basqa lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 2
