7 wanted persons arrested, arms seized in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: A combined Iraqi army and police force arrested seven wanted persons and seized arms and rockets all over Basra on Sunday, a local police source said. “Forces from the Iraqi army and police under Basra Police Chief Maj. General Adel Daham and Commander of 14th Brigade Maj. General Aziz Nouri al-Dhalmi conducted search raids in the plantation areas between Safwan and al-Zubair, western Basra, resulting in the capture of seven wanted men on different charges,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The raiding forces also seized 14 Kalashnikov assault rifles and four rockets ready for firing close to the military hospital,” the source added.
