Stricter security measures at border oilfields with Iran

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi police forces have reinforced its presence at the al-Fekka oilfield by deploying four new guarding points to protect the field’s oil wells along the borderline with Iran. “This area is important, and embraces more than 30 oil wells,” a source from the border police told IraqiNews.com news agency on Sunday. He noted that the measures aim at protecting the wells and avoiding border issues that may cause problems. The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad. MH (P)/SR 2
