5 killed, 21 wounded in 3 car bombings in Baghdad, Kirkuk, Basra

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Five persons were killed on Wednesday and 21 others wounded in three car bombings in the cities of Baghdad, Kirkuk, and Basra. In Baghdad, four persons were killed and 13 others wounded when a suicide bomber blew up his booby-trapped car in the northeast of the Iraqi capital. “The blast occurred this morning near the al-Qahira police station, northeastern Baghdad,” a local security source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He did not mention further details, but explained that the blast was so strong that part of the police station’s building collapsed. In Kirkuk, one civilian was killed and eight others were wounded in car bombing in southern the city. “The blast occurred this morning in the Rass Domez area of southern Kirkuk (250 km northeast of Baghdad),” a local police source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He explained that the injuries were admitted to a nearby hospital. “The blast caused damage to a number of nearby houses and shops,” the source added. In Basra, a car bomb went off near a police station in central the city, southern Iraq. “The blast occurred this morning near a police station in the Umm al-Broom neighborhood of central Basra (590 km south of Baghdad),” a local police source told IraqiNews.com news agency.
