Muthanna police arrest 2 gunmen

MUTHANNA / IraqiNews.com: Two gunmen who were planning to a “terrorist” operation targeting state agencies and local residents in the city of al-Samawa were captured, the spokesman for the Muthanna police department revealed. “Security agencies, in association with the information & investigations department, arrested two Iraqi elements belonging to a terrorist network Saturday evening,” Lt. Colonel Khalid Ajeel told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The arrests took place upon intelligence tip-offs prior to planned attacks by the gunmen on state institutions and local residents in the province,” he added.
