8 wanted persons nabbed in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Eight wanted persons, including an Egyptian, were arrested Thursday in southwest of Kirkuk, according to a senior security source. “A joint force of Kirkuk Districts Police Department (KDPD) and Criminal Investigation Department, backed by the 15th brigade of the Iraqi army and U.S. forces, arrested eight wanted persons during a crackdown operation in the wee small hours on Thursday (Sept. 16) in villages in al-Huweija district, southwest of Kirkuk,” Brigadier Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The forces waged the operation in Hamiera and al-Ramieda villages,” he added, pointing out that five wanted men were arrested in accordance with Article IV Terrorism Law. “An Egyptian was arrested for entering Iraq illegally,” he said. “The forces seized two explosive belts, six boxes of ammunitions 15 Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs) , 9 hand grenades, 2 launching pads, BKC guns, CDs belongs to al-Naqshabandiya group and 12 mortar shells,” he noted. “The operation ended this morning,” he said.
