Talabani heads for NY to attend UNGA meetings

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani on Saturday left the capital Baghdad for the United States to attend meetings of the New York-based 65th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session. “Talabani left Iraq at the head of a delegation for New York, where he will deliver Iraq’s address before the meeting,” according to a statement published on the Iraqi presidential cabinet’s official web site. The Iraqi leader will also attend meetings of the Socialist International in his capacity as deputy chairman of the organization as well as the annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative.
