31 suspects, including AQI members, arrested in Salah al-Din

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: Policemen arrested 31 suspects, including five members of Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI), in the district of al-Touz, east of Tikrit city, on Friday, a local police source said. “Salah al-Din Emergency Police forces launched an operation codenamed Defuse in al-Touz district, namely the areas of Emerli and Bir Ali, arresting five wanted AQI members and 26 suspects others,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The operation aims to deter activities that emerged recently by armed groups, particularly AQI, in al-Touz, (90 km), east of Tikrit,” he added. Tikrit, the capital city of Salah al-Din province, lies 175 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
