Leading Iraqi Integrity Commission official assassinated in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A leading member of the Iraqi Integrity Commission had been assassinated while on his way on the main highway leading to Baghdad‘s Muthanna Airport early on Sunday, a Baghdad security officer said. “A group of armed men have opened fire on a high-ranking official in the Iraqi Integrity Commission, Laith Muhannad, while driving his car on the main highway leading to West Baghdad‘s Muthanna Airport, killing him on the spot. The gunmen fled to an unknown destination,” he added. He stressed that the the Iraqi police forces have cordoned off the area, and sent the details of the attackers to nearby check points.
