3 Sahwa fighters injured in 2 blasts in Baiji

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: Three Sahwa (Awakening) fighters were wounded when two roadside bombs went off in the Baiji district, north of Tikrit city. “Two roadside bombs went off late yesterday night targeting a Sahwa checkpoint in Baiji, 40 km north of Tikrit,” a local police source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He did not mention further details, but noted that three of the checkpoint’s personnel were wounded in the attack. Tikrit, the capital city of the Salah al-Din province, lies 175 km north of Baghdad.
