Allawi in Damascus, could meet Sadr

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Head of the Al-Iraqiya Alliance, Ayad Allawi, has travelled to Damascus responding to an invitation addressed to him by the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. “During the visit Alawi will discuss recent political developments in Iraq and the crisis of forming the new Iraqi government,” Maysoon al-Damaloji, the spokesperson of the al-Iraqiya, told IraqiNews.com news agency on Tuesday. “It is expected that during his visit to Syria, Allawi will meet Muqtada al-Sadr, the head of the Sadr movement in Iraq, to discuss political coalitions,” she explained.
