Basra council endorses 3,000 housing units

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The Basra Provincial Council on Thursday approved a project to set up the New City project which envisages the construction of 3,000 housing unit in the province, according to the council chief. “The new project, to be implemented in the eastern Basra district of Shatt al-Arab, will be finalized over three stages with all services provided in a bid to ease the housing problem facing the province,” Jabbar Amin told IraqiNews.com news agency. The oil-rich port city of Basra, Iraq’s only outlet to waterways, lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
