Civilian wounded as army clashes with gunmen in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: One civilian was wounded Monday in clashes between gunmen and an Iraqi army force in eastern Mosul, according to a security source. “A passing civilian was wounded Monday afternoon (Oct. 11) in clashes that erupted between gunmen and army forces in al-Zahraa neighborhood in eastern Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The armed men opened fire on an army checkpoint in the region, forcing the soldiers to respond,” the source explained, without giving further details.
