BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Five persons, including three anti-Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) sahwa tribal fighters, were wounded in an improvised explosive device attack on a checkpoint in Baghdad on Thursday, a local police source said. “An IED planted near a sahwa (awakening) checkpoint in al-Rai neighborhood, in Baghdad’s al-Karkh area, went off today (Oct. 14),” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The explosion left three sahwa fighters and two civilian pedestrians near the site wounded,” he added, not giving further details.
