2 Sadrist politicians wounded in Baghdad
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: two members of al-Ahar (Liberals) bloc of Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sadr were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) attached to their vehicle went off in eastern Baghdad on Saturday, an Iraqi police source said. “An IED attached to the vehicle of a member of al-Ahrar bloc, an offshoot of the Sadrist Movement, went off on Falastine street, near the Turkmen Club in eastern Baghdad,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The explosion left the vehicle driver and another passenger severely wounded,” he said, adding the two were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
