Govt. formation must be Iraqi decision, Tehran says

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Tehran government has said on Sunday that the decision of the new Iraqi government “must be an Iraqi decision. This issue is not an issue for competitions,” according to the Iranian National Security Adviser, Saeed Jalili, who conferred with Iraq‘s Interior Minister, Jawad Bulani, now on a visit to Iran. “Bulani and Jalili have discussed the strategic security issues and the nature of boosting cooperation between the two countries in this field, in such a way that achieves their stability, as well as strengthening neighborly relations. This will hopefully lend to serve the mutual interests of their peoples and respect of the solidarity of their two countries,” he said. “Jalili also expressed keenness for supporting the political process in Iraq, and Iran‘s refusal to interfere in Iraq‘s internal affairs,” an Iranian statement said. The statement followed reports that Iraq‘s Prime Minister Nouri al-Malki to visit Tehran after he wraps up visits to Syria and Jordan. SKH (P)/SR 2
