Former Australian Prime Minister hurled by shoe during TV program

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: An Australian citizen, protesting the war on Iraq, has hurled his shoe on the former Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, during a BBC TV program on Tuesday, according to a BBC news report. Howard,, an ally for former U.S.President George Bush in the latter’s war against Iraq, had answered a question by the BBC about his decision to share in the war against Iraq,, said: “I guess it was justified,” adding that “some mistakes had been committed at the end of the military operations, but ‘I think that the number of the army divisions had been to small,” adding that the abolishing of the former Iraqi Army  had been a mistake.” At that moment, a citizen called Peter Grey, stood up and hurled one of his shoes on Howard, demanding him to justify his decision to send 2,000 Australian soldiers to support the American troops, when Iraq‘s invasion took place in 2003. When Grey threw his shoe on Howard, he shouted: “this is for the people who were killed in Iraq,” whilst a women shouted: “Your hands are sustained with blood,” but Grey missed his target and was thrown out of the studio together with the woman, whilst Howard laughed and called for cooling up the BBC reporter, who began to apologize, saying: “Forget it..Forget it.” The said incident has reminded the viewers when the Iraqi Journalist, Muntadir al-Zeidi hurled his shows in 2008 on former U.S. President, George Bush, during a news conference with Iraq‘s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki.
