435 expatriate families return to Wassit

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: A total 435 families who were settled outside Iraq returned to the Iraqi province of Wassit, according to a local official on Thursday. “Wassit registered until today (Oct. 28) the return of 435 families, who had been forced by the former regime to relocate outside Iraq, to the province during the current month,” the source, who is from the Regional Displacement and Immigration Directorate, told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Wassit has topped the list of Iraqi provinces in the return of forcibly-displaced Iraqis,” he noted. The source added that all returning families are covered by the return grant approved by the Iraqi cabinet, which includes a residential plot of land and financial assistance. Wassit lies 180 km southeast of the Iraq capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 2
