Iranian trade delegation seeks investment, export opportunities in Najaf

NAJAF / IraqiNews.com: The Najaf provincial council chief on Thursday discussed with a visiting Iranian trade and industrial delegation the possibility of enhancing their contribution to the economy and investment opportunities available in the province. “The council had talks today (Oct. 28) with a trade delegation currently on a visit to Naja to mull over the investment and export opportunities available in the province,” Sheikh Kadhem Zhoun told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The visit falls within the framework of trade agreements signed by Iraq and many countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he added. Gholam Ali Mahdawi, the Iranian delegation chief, told IraqiNews.com that the delegation comprises 38 firms specialized in construction, infrastructure industries, equipment, agricultural machines, oil, road pavement, housing compounds and other fields. The holy Shiite city of Najaf lies 160 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (S) 79
