Tight security measures around mosques in Ninewa

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Tight security measures have been adopted around mosques before and after the Friday Prayer, according to a source from the Ninewa Operations Command. “Security forces in Ninewa installed security barricades around mosques, mainly in Mosul, preventing all kinds of vehicles from approaching them,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Security measures include searching prayers and the whole areas around mosques,” he added. Baghdad had witnessed on Tuesday night a serious unprecedented security deterioration through attacks by booby-trapped cars, explosive charges and sticky bombs, that caused 64 people killed and 360 others wounded, according to an official result announced by the Iraqi Health Ministry. Security responded by imposing a curfew and closing all roads into the Iraqi capital as a precautionary measure to avoid further attacks. SH (P) 1
