Man, son wounded in blast near Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A man and his son were wounded in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast northwest of Mosul city on Saturday, a security source in Ninewa province said. “An IED went off near an Iraqi army patrol on the main street in Owainat village, Rubai’a district, northwest of Mosul, leaving a man and his son who happened to be near the blast site wounded,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “There were no casualties among the patrol personnel,” he added, noting the wounded were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The source did not give further details. Mosul, the capital city of the unrest-stricken province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
