“Arbil’s meeting historic, lay base for nat. partnership” – Talabani

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Iraq‘s President, Jalal Talabani, has expressed hope that the meeting of the Iraqi political leaders, held in Arbil on Monday, would be represent a motive to achieve national accordance and lay basis for national partnership in the Federal Republic of Iraq, describing the Arbil meeting as “historic.” “Today’s meeting his a  historic meeting that shall represent a motive for the political forces to achieve national concord and lay the basis for a national partnership,” Talabani stated during his speech for the opening of the Round Table Meeting in Arbil. “This meeting shall put us in ahead of a genuine responsibility to hold another meeting in Baghdad to establish a national-partnership government, embodying the free will.” The leaders of Iraq‘s political blocs have began their Summit meeting in Arbil to accelerate the formation of a new government. The meeting began after the arrival of President Talabani, his two Vice-Presidents, Adel Abdul-Mahdi and Tareq al-Hashimi, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and the leader of al-Iraqiya blopc and former Prime Minister, Iyad Allawi, the Chairman of the National Coalition, Ammar al-Hakim and representaives of al-Fadhila (Virtue) Party, the Free Bloc, the Iraqi Accordance and other representatives. The meeting was also attended by leading elements of the Secretary General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Kosrat Raoul, leaders of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, among them its Deputy Chairman, Nichervan Barzani and the Speaker of Kurdistan Parliament, Kamal Kirkuki. The Director of Arbil Asayish (Security), Abdullah Ali, has stated early in the day that the security forces in the Province had taken  strict security measures, in preparation for the Summit Meeting that gathered the leaders of the leading political blocs, in response to a call by the President of Kurdistan Region, Massoud Barzani. The meeting was also attended by leading elements of the Secretary General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Kosrat Raoul, leaders of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, among them its Deputy Chairman, Nichervan Barzani and the Speaker of Kurdistan Parliament, Kamal Kirkuki.
