Key PUK member killed in Diala

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A leading member in the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Nawzad Rahim Khardal, was killed in an explosive charge blast in his car in northern Diala’s Khanaqin city on Saturday, according to a security source. “An explosive charge went off inside a car belonging to Khadal in Saadiya village, Khanaqin, 155 km north of Baaquba, leaving him killed and his son and one of his escorts seriously wounded,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said the security forces cordoned off the attack site and launched a search campaign for the elements behind the attack. Baaquba, the capital city of the restive province of Diala, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad. SKH (P)/AmR 3
