Baghdad-Basra train faces sudden stop in Muthanna Province, without losses:

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The BaghdadBasra train had faced a sudden stoppage at Rumeitha town, north of southern Iraq’s Muthanna Province, causing its failure to continue its trip on Saturday night, according to an eyewitness on Sunday. “The train, that was driving us from Baghdad to Basra, had suddenly stopped opposite to Abu-Tubeikh village at Rumeitha area in Muthanna Province, causing three of its carriages to be close to overturn, forcing the train to cease its trip,” Passenger, Qusay Abdul-Latif told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The accident had caused no human losses, though its 650 passengers were forced to spend their Saturday night under cold weather,” he said. The BaghdadBasra train is witnessing several incidents nowadays, due to the failure of its maintenance works by the Iraqi Railways. Basra, the center of Basra Province, is 590 km to the south of Baghdad. SKH/SR 1
