BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Southern Iraq‘s Um-Qasr Port in Basra Province on Tuesday witnessed the entrance of the American Frigate, Andrews, on its first voyage to Iraq, according to a statement by the media official of the Iraqi Ports Company. “Um-Qasr Port in Basra Province has received today (Tuesday) the American Frigate Andrews, which entered an Iraqi port for the first time, carrying heavy materials,” Anmar al-Safi told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that the 265-meter long Andrews is considered a giant frigate, pointing out that Um-Qasr Port had received a number of huge frigates this year, last of which was a Japanese frigate, carrying 848 cars, on its first trip for Iraq and the third trip across the world.
