Parliament’s deputy speaker holds talks with SRSG

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: First deputy of parliament’s speaker, Qusai al-Suheil, discussed on Wednesday with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Iraq (SRSG), Ad Melkert, the latest developments in Iraq, according to an official statement. “Al-Suheil received Melkert at his office in Baghdad and discussed with him the latest political developments in Iraq and ways to foster cooperation between Iraq and the United Nations,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The Iraqi official valued the role played by the United Nations in Iraq, asserting the importance of opening new horizons of cooperation between the two sides,” the statement added.
