80,000 Diala houses damaged by violence, official
DIALA / IraqiNews.com: About 80,000 houses in northeastern Iraq’s Diala Province have been damaged due to violence acts over the past few years, Diala Governor’s Adviser for Reconstruction and Investment Affairs said on Sunday. “Diala Province‘s Compensations Committee has completed today (Sunday) the compensation of 10 percent of owners of all the damaged houses, harmed by violence acts in the province, which has reached 80,000 houses, existing in Diyala’s five towns of Baaquba, Khalis, Baladruz, Miqdadiya and Khanaqin,” Rassim Ismail told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that the Central Government in Baghdad had allocated 38 billion (b) Iraqi dinars to compensate the owners of the damaged houses, with an average of 2-8 million dinars for each house, according to the percentage of the loss. Baaquba, the center of Diala Province, was the largest town harmed by the damages, followed by Miqdadiya, Khalis, Baladruz and Khanaqin.
