Talafar blast victims increase to 5 dead

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Another person have died due to injuries sustained in an explosion in Talafar last Friday. This brings the total number of victims from the blast up to five people killed, according to a Ninewa medical source on Sunday. “A person wounded in an explosion that took place in Talafar town, 60 km to the northeast of Mosul, has died on Saturday night, raising the total victims to 5 and the wounded persons to 13, most of them seriously injured,” he said. The source noted that the victim’s injury was serious, and all efforts to save him have failed. Although most of the people wounded in the blast have been discharged from Talafar Hospital, those who remain are in serious condition. A security official told IraqiNews.com news agency last Thursday that an explosive charge had blown up inside an aviary shop in Talafar, killing 3 persons including a child and wounding 15 others. A fourth wounded person died on Friday night, to raise the total victims to 5 killed, after the death of another wounded person. Mosul, the center of north Iraq’s Ninewa Province, is 405 km to the north of Baghdad. SKH/SR 1
