Joint force detains 17 wanted men, suspects in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: A joint force arrested on Thursday 17 wanted men and suspected gunmen in Kirkuk, a senior police chief said. “A joint force of Kirkuk Districts Police Department (KDPD) and Tarklan police arrested on Thursday (Dec. 2) three wanted men; the first belongs to the Islamic State of Iraq, the second is wanted in accordance with article IV Terrorism Law, while the third one belongs to Ansar al-Sunna armed group,” Brigadier Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Another joint force, backed by U.S. troops, waged a security oepration in al-Senaai neighborhood, southwest of Kirkuk, where 13 suspects were arrested,” he added. “A wanted man was arrested in Daqouq district, southern Kirkuk,” he said. Kirkuk lies 280 km northeast of Baghdad. SH (P)/SR 24
