Dollar transfers hit $221m in daily auction

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) opened this week with demands lower demand on foreign transfers of $221.634 million at an exchange rate of 1170 Iraqi dinars per dollar, compared to the previous session’s $237.690 million. “There was no demand on cash during today’s session but foreign transfers outside the country hit $125.669 million, covered at an exchange rate of 1,183 Iraqi dinars per dollar,” according to a CBI news bulletin received by IraqiNews.com news agency. None of the 19 banks that participated in this week’s session offered to sell dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday. AmR (P)/SR 5
