KDP to hold 13th conference Saturday

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The 13th Conference of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) shall be held next Saturday, with the presence of over 1,000 members, the chairman of KDP‘s preparatory committee, Faiq Towfiq, said on Wednesday. “The KDP‘s 13th Conference is scheduled to convene next Saturday, under the motto, ‘Renewal, Justice and Coexistence,’ Towfiq told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The Party strives to renew itself through expanding its leadership, and this conference shall elect a central committee, a Party Chairman and his Deputy, as well as discuss its internal system,” he added. Towfiq noted that the Party’s leadership would be increased from 31 to 51 members, in order to enable the leadership’s members to follow up on the activity of all its branches, along with its participation in the government. “Over 150 women shall participate in the conference, among its 1,000 members,” Towfiq noted when asked about the participation of women.
