Twelve persons injured in three Baghdad explosions

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: At least 12 persons, including 4 policemen and 3 traffic policemen, have been injured in two explosive charges blasts and an improvised explosive charge (IED) blast in different parts of Baghdad on Monday, a security source said. “An explosive charge, planted in a civilian car, parked close to Kamal Al-Samarrae Hospital in central Baghdad‘s Andalus Square, blew off on Monday, wounding three persons that were in the car, along with causing material damage to the car,” the security source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The source also said that “an explosive charge blew off against a police car that passed through southeast Baghdad‘s Zaafaraniya district, wounding four of its elements and causing damage to the car.” “Another explosive charge blew off in central Baghdad‘s Rubei Street, wounding 5 persons among them 3 traffic policemen, who were all driven to a nearby hospital for treatment,” the security source added. The said explosions took place at a time when Iraq’s Prime Minister Designate, Nouri al-Maliki, was scheduled to present the candidates for his new cabinet’s post during the next 24 hours. SKH 39
