Japanese Embassy holds symposium in Baghdad about “Cities Friendly to Environment”:

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Japanese Embassy in Baghdad has held a symposium on Sunday about the Japanese experience in the “Project for Cities Friendly for Environment,” with the presence of senior Iraqi officials of both Environment and Housing Ministries, along with a number of academists and specialists. “Iraq and Japan are planning to boost their bilateral relations in different fields, especially in the field of Cities Friendly for Environment,” the Japanese Ambassador to Baghdad, Sosomo Hasigawa, said in a speech at the enuaguration of the symposium, attended by IraqiNews.com news agency, adding: “we exploit this symposium to present the Lecturer in Baghdad Univesity, Haider Mohammed al-Munshe’i, who visited Japan twice in 2008 and 2010, under an invitation by the Japanese Institution, specialized in the fields of reconstruction and environment protection.” Professor Munshe‘i, on his part, told IraqiNews.com: “My visit to Japan had aimed to get acquainted with the efforts of the local governments there to build cities, friendly for environment, as we had carried out joint researches with a group of Japanese researchers, that were concentrated on the state of environment in Iraq.” AHM (A) / SKH 425
