BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The current visit to Iraq by the Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali Salihi, aims at settling the suspended dossiers between the two neighborly countries, a Legislature for al-Iraqiya bloc, led by former Prime Minister Iyad Allawi, has said on Thursday. “The relations between Iraq and Iran have become clear, hence there are continuous visits by Iranian officials for Iraq,” Jamal al-Battikh told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Salihi’s current visit is taking place to settle the suspended dossiers between the two countries, including the problem of the salty waters (pouring from Iran into southern Iraq‘s Shatt al-Arab Waterway), the demarcation of the joint borders and the issue of the prisoners-of-war (POWs),” he added. Salihi’s visit, during which he conferred with Iraqi President, Jalal Talabani, Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki and Foreign Minister, Hoshiar Zibari, is taking place within the current efforts to boost bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries and means to settle the pending border issues between both countries.
