Army soldiers capture recent Ninewa bombers

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi army force captured on Friday five of the culprits of the car bomb blast south of Mosul city, according to a military source. “A force from the Iraqi army’s 2nd Division stationed in Mosul captured today (Jan. 7) five of the recent bombing attack in the al-Jada’a village, al-Qiyara district, south of Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He noted that the perpetrators, also arrested in al-Qiyara, are currently under investigative custody in the 2nd Division’s headquarters. He did not give further details. Earlier, a security source in Ninewa said that a car bomb went off on Sunday targeting an Iraqi army patrol in al-Jada’a village, leaving two persons, one of them a soldier, killed and three civilians wounded. Mosul, the capital city of the unrest-stricken multi-ethnic province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P) 72
