Iran concludes joint political, economic – border committees with Iraq:

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iran‘s Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salihi, has announced on Friday that Iran has concluded three joint political, economic and border committees with Iraq, during his visit to Baghdad that ended last Thursday, according to the English-language Tehran Times newspaper on Saturday. “We have discussed serious issues during our visit, took a number of decisions, including the establishment of joint high economic, political and border committees,” the newspaper quoted Salihi as saying. Salihi’s official visit for Iraq that was concluded last Thursday had covered meetings with leading Iraqi officials, including President Jalal Talabani, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, Foreign Minister Hoshiar Zibari and Parliament Speaker Usama al-Nujeifi, as well his visit to the Supreme Islamic Shiite Authority, Ali Al-Sisitani. The Iranian Foreign Minister had also called, during his visit to Baghdad, the formation of a regional treaty, comprising Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Syria for boosting security and economic cooperation.
