Second Shabak civilian gunned down in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A Shabak civilian was killed in Mosul on Monday, the second incident of its kind in the city in the past few hours, a security source said. “A doctor, from the Shabak minority, was killed on Monday (Jan. 10) by gunmen inside his clinic in Adan neighborhood, eastern Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. This is the second attack of its kind in the city as unidentified gunmen had shot and killed a Shabak civilian in al-Jazaer neighborhood, eastern Mosul, this afternoon. The Shabak people are an ethnic and religious minority group living in northern Iraq, they are Indo-European, and are from the same ethnic group as Iranians and Kurds. They live mainly in the villages of Ali Rash, Khazna, Yangidja and Tallara in Sinjar district in the province of Ninewa in northern Iraq. SH (P) 100
