Policeman killed, injured, in car-bomb dismantling in Salahaddin

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi policeman has been killed and another injured while trying to dismantle a booby-trapped car close to a secondary school north of Tikrit, the center of Salah al-Din Province, a police source said on Tuesday. “A booby-trapped car, parked close to an industrial secondary school in Shirgat township, 100 km to the north of Tikrit, blew up early on Tuesday, killing a policeman and wounding his colleague, who tried to dismantle the car,” the police source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said the blast had caused damage to a number of building close to the venue of the explosion, whilst the police had evacuated the area, to avoid causing human losses.
